Patola House
Patan double-ikat silk, hand-tied and hand-woven

Every thread
is decided
before it's woven.

Patola is dyed twice, once on the warp and once on the weft, so the pattern lives inside the silk instead of on top of it. Explore the current loom, or read how each piece is made.

Rooted in the double-ikat weave

Patola is a resist-dye technique where both the warp and weft threads are individually tied and dyed before a single thread touches the loom. Aligning them by hand is what takes the weeks.
